- On or about 28-Jan-96 12:28:54 Howard Walton typed the following words about
- "PPP problems". My reply is thus...
-
-
- HW> I am switching from SLIP to PPP. Prior to the switch, AmiTCP ran fine.
- HW> Now I am encountering problems on initial startup of AmiTCP.
-
- HW> I receive the following error messages when I start the program:
-
- HW> $ppp0iplocal: bad value
- HW> $ppp0ipremote: bad value
-
- HW> Does anyone have any idea what this is?
- HW> Any help is appreciated.

- Do you have a dynamically assigned IP address? Those two variables hold the IP
- addresses assigned by your ISP when you connect. If you have a dynamically
- assigned IP address you should have 0.0.0.0 in your ppp0.config. Otherwise,
- you should have the static IP address assigned by your ISP in ppp0.config.
